Les HexaTrucs en gif89a

Le format de fichier GIF (Graphic Interchange Format) a été inventé et publié par Compuserve dans les temps très anciens du siècle dernier, en 1987. Deux ans plus tard, ils ont ajouté la possibilité de faire des animations, tout en gardant la limitation à 256 couleurs.

Une contrainte qui n'en est pas vraiment une, on devrait plutôt la voir comme un défi artistique.

approche

Cette séquence, pourtant essentielle au respect du scénario, n'est pourtant arrivée qu'aux alentours de noël 2025. Elle m'a permis d'apprendre que le respect des proportions est un art délicat, et elle va m'apprendre à maitriser les lumières fluctuantes. Et puis, il faut bien l'avouer, ces arches ne conviennent pas à la majesté potentielle de la vision.

hexacone

Celui-ci est le premier membre de la famille, ses six points cardinaux sont à l'origine de cette débauche d'hexa-machins. Par la suite, la jackification a été faite par l'ajout de nombreux accessoires.

survol

Survoler le monde, voir les chose da haut, être un goéland planant au dessus des turpitudes du monde moderne...

L'ajustement de la trajectoire de la caméra est un bon défi. Cette séquence va-t-elle devenir un champ d'espérimentation, plutôt que splined ?

hexawood

Comme certains d'entre vous l'ont remarqué, les deux premiers membre de la famille étaient très métalliques. Un soir, j'ai voulu changer de matière, et j'ai songé au bois. Ça n'est pas aussi simple que ça en a l'air, même si on démarre avec les textures boisées proposées par POV. Et pourtant, pour tout ce qui touche au bois, j'ai un bon professeur, mais il ne touche qu'au réel...

Nouveau venue sur scène, le « Trident », vaisseau à la structure novatrice, mais au dessin encore empirique. Et la complexité de ses couloirs rendait les rencontres sociales au sein de l'équipage assez rares. C'est pour ça que les ingénieurs se repenchent sur la planche à dessin.

Cette scene est la première animation que j'ai réalisé quand j'ai dépassé le stade de « et si je modélisais un objet hexaconique ? » Alors, au début il n'y avait que l'hexacone originel et un vague décor. Et puis, j'ai conçu le second membre de la famille, le désormais célèbre hexabenz. Il m'a donc semblé essentiel de le rajouter à cette séquence, avec une gestuelle alambiquée.

Un petit récapitulatif excité des petits trucs que j'essaye de mieux concrétiser, le passage de l'image mentale au fichier PNG est parfois difficile.
